INFORMATION, HANDLED WITH CARE
Know what you’re
looking at.
The guide is a starting point for your own conversation with a business. Here is how information gets here and what it means.
What qualifies for a listing?
We review a matched business identity, an appropriate category, evidence of a location or service area, at least one usable public contact route, and enough service information to be useful. An unresolved identity conflict, unreviewed sensitive address, or unsupported right to use a source blocks publication.
Our selected coverage includes Tacoma, University Place, Fircrest, Lakewood, Fife, Parkland, Spanaway, and Puyallup. A legitimate branch of a regional business can qualify. We do not assume every business is independently or locally owned.
Where does information come from?
Sources may include owner submissions, an official business website, or a dataset whose permitted uses have been reviewed. Source provenance and review evidence are retained privately for moderation. A public website or an automated collection tool is not, by itself, permission to copy content.
We do not build profiles by copying Google Maps listings, reviews, photos, or coordinates. We do not publish private home addresses as storefronts. Official government lookup resources may help a reviewer check a fact; a directory listing is not a government certification.
How are results ordered?
Relevance uses your query and selected area, then business name for a consistent order. You can choose alphabetical order. An ownership claim, agency relationship, or payment does not improve organic rank. Sponsored placements, when present, are separate and labeled.
What does owner management mean?
First ownership claims receive human review. Approved owners can propose changes for their listing; review is still required before a change replaces published information. A claim is permission to manage that specific listing, not a quality award or proof that every business detail is current.
Freshness and missing details.
Profiles show when contact details were reviewed. That date does not promise that hours, availability, credentials, or pricing are current. Unknown fields mean “not provided,” not “no.” Always confirm details that matter to your decision directly with the business.
Corrections and removals.
Anyone can flag an error, closure, duplicate, or sensitive address without buying a service. We review supporting information, stage factual changes, and may suppress a listing while a material issue is resolved. We do not promise a specific response time.
